I'm Going to Be a Mom!

I've never kept a journal but as I embark on this journey I wanted to make sure that I will be able to remember every particular detail about it - not only for me, but for my child. I am not sharing this experience with a significant other and, therefore, will not be able to reminisce about this experience with him - so I wanted to document my experiences, emotions, and milestones during this process.

I'm usually pretty exclusive in sharing private details and emotions, but there is so much about this experience that I need to share with my friends and family. So much has already passed, left uncaptured, but I will officially begin the story now. Here goes...

I am so happy for you. I can not wait to hear every detail. I am honored to be apart of your journey. There is nothing better in life then being a mom. I know you are going to be a wonderful mother.

You have many "significant" others you are sharing this experience with. We all love you and are thrilled for you. I am looking forward to becoming closer in the years to come. Thank you for sharing this journey. I can not wait to welcome your daughter!

06/14/07 - Application to Adoptions International (Adoption Agency) Sent
06/26/07 - Completed Massachusetts Approaches Partnership in Parenting Program (MAPP)
07/08/07 - Homestudy & Social Worker Visits Complete (Meetings with the Social Worker were Held on 6/23/07, 6/30/07, and 7/8/07)

01/25/08 - DNA Taken from Gabriella and Gabriella's Birth Mother and Social Worker Interview is Conducted

02/11/08 through 02/15/08- 2nd Visit Trip with Grammy and Grampy
03/14/08 at 11:53 AM - Pre-Approval from the US Embassy (Day 48)
03/26/08 - Exit Family Court
